In most single-parent households, women are not able to work as they must take on the responsibility of caring for their children. For living, they have to rely on welfare assistance. However, they are labeled as "parasites" and thus are unable to receive basic respect from society. HER Fund chose to grant funds to the Women Poverty Concern Group in 2007, giving core members of the organization the opportunity to receive training in the "Walk Under the Rainbow Campaign", allowing them to pick up legal knowledge, as well as learning how to organize women's rights activities and provide telephone advisory service.
