HER Fund | Strength in Solidarity
International Women’s Day 2026 Forum

In 2004, the founders of HER Fund embraced their ideals and invited different stakeholders, including individuals, corporates, and private foundations, to pool resources and move forward one step at a time.

From day one until today, we experienced partnerships, experimentations, setbacks, co-creation, challenges, and rewards throughout our impact journey.

We walk together in solidarity, we experience together — and we dare to change.

Detailed Programme:

12.30PM - 7.00PM
2trength in 2olidarity: HER Fund's 22-Year Impact Exhibition (Free Admission)

Featuring impactful stories that highlight our collective achievements advancing gender equality in Hong Kong, join us to learn more about our work and be part of transforming this exhibition together!

1.00PM - 2.00PM
S1 - Common Threads: Sex Work and Allyship in Hong Kong

主持 Moderator: Sealing Cheng, CUHK
講者 Speakers: Action for Reach Out (AFRO), Midnight Blue, Teen's Key - Young Women Development Network

Sex workers are often othered, relegated to the outskirts of public conversation. In the face of societal and internalised stigma, how do NGOs support sex workers in ways that make them feel seen and heard as human beings? Join us to understand the importance of building these “unseen narratives” and what it means to walk alongside community.

2.30PM - 3.30PM
S2 - Crafting Space: Embracing Care in Disabilities and Differences

Moderator: Cat H.-M. FUNG, Brainfood
Speakers: M Cube Wheel Platform

When spaces (physical or social) neglect the needs arising from disabilities and differences, persons with disabilities often have to forge their own sense of belonging.
How do we create safer inclusive spaces for all bodies and minds? In what ways can we offer care to one another? Join our conversation as we explore the value of care and human relationships.

4.00PM - 6.00PM
S3 - *Strength in Solidarity: Weaving Possibilities for Grassroots (including Networking Session)

Moderator: Mandy Cheung, HER Fund
Speakers: Les Corner, Mission For Migrant Workers (MFMW), NC Kwong from FedEx

Throughout HER Fund’s 22 year impact journey, we’ve asked ourselves: What does solidarity look like to us? How do we walk in partnership with grassroots communities and our donors, building resilience and shifting power along the way?
Join us to explore ways to uplift one another in and beyond moments of crises, followed by the official launch of our 20th Anniversary Impact Report and Exhibition—harvesting our experiences of sowing, experimenting, transforming and growing.
There will also be a networking session*, where you will meet passionate changemakers like yourselves, forge meaningful connections, and maybe even weave together possible solutions to the pressing challenges our communities face. Whether you’re a seasoned advocate or new to the social impact sector, this is a unique opportunity to engage, exchange, and establish transformative partnerships.

*Drinks and small bites will be provided

6.00PM - 7.00PM
S4 - Community-led Solutions: Operating Beyond Survival (Members from gender movement organisations will be given priority)

Moderator: Dr. Gigi Lo, HER Fund
Speakers: Association for Advancement of Feminism, Refugee Union, Quarks

Nothing about addressing social issues is easy, which is why it’s common for us to slip into survival mode. What sort of help do we need to go further than survival? How can we find that help?
Let’s hear from HER Fund’s grantees on their journeys with HER Fund and the ways they have cultivated resilience, solidarity, and collective care. Register here.
