| Outline | Refugee Union is a self-led organisation of refugees in Hong Kong. Refugees are one of the most marginalised communities in Hong Kong. Many are disempowered by their precarious residency and social stigma. This project will continue the efforts in Refugee Union’s project last year, to further raise their organisational capacity. While refugees and asylum seekers can receive education in Hong Kong, many students face language barrier. The lack of resources, both in terms of finance and network, has put the refugee children in a particularly disadvantaged position. This is stressful for the parents, many of whom stayed in Hong Kong for the future of their children. This project will include tutorial classes for the children, as well as adults’ yoga classes. It will be an effort to empower the organisation leaders, parents and children. |
