| Outline | Dear Family Hong Kong is an organization that primarily connects different stakeholders through public education. It advocates for the right to form families with equality for all gender and sexual orientations, and seeks to secure legal protection for diverse forms of relationships. This project will fill the gap in the current discussion surrounding civil partnerships through two models. The first is interactive theater, to allow participants to immerse themselves into the scenarios of different characters. The experience will challenge the participants to think about marriage, its alternatives, and why society may need another legal framework to protect partnerships for the diverse LGBTQ+ communities. The second is a community café, which allow participants to dive into a vibrant discussion fuelled by fascinating facts and diverse perspectives. In small group discussions, participants could explore and reflect on the current situation of partnerships and family in Hong Kong and imagine possibilities for a more inclusive future. |
