Partner Branches of Hope
Project Code G2318
Grant Amount(HKD) HKD $70,000
Concern Area Freedom from Violence, Advancement of Women's Civil Participation
Outline This project strives to promote the cessation of human trafficking. The beneficiaries are hard-to-reach migrant worker communities in Hong Kong (including domestic workers from Sri Lanka, India, and other various countries). It will investigate, analyze, and research the issue of human trafficking through data collection and a series of in-depth interviews. Based on the research findings, a seminar on combating human trafficking will be organized for the hard-to-reach migrant worker communities. Additionally, Branches of Hope invites legal professionals to discuss the relevant legal procedures these migrant workers may face to better protect the rights of migrant workers and empower them when they encounter similar situations. It aims at raising awareness of human trafficking, exploitation, and the rights of migrant workers in society. It also facilitates information exchange and mutual support among different groups within the migrant communities.
