A women’s group is calling for the government to revise the Sexual Discrimination Ordinance (SDO) so that women working in the servicing industry could be protected from sexual harassment.

The grant application procedure for the 9th grant cycle (1st April, 2012 – 31st March, 2013) is opening soon! Soft copy of the funding guidelines and application form will be available after 26th October, 2011 at our website: www.herfund.org.hk.

A briefing session will be held on 26th October, 2011 (Wed) at 5 – 6pm in HER Fund office (6D, Kingland Apartments, 739 Nathan Road) to explain details of the application procedure and requirements. In order to brainstorm new ideas for women and girls' rights work and strategy, we will hold a Brainstorming Session on the same day from 6:30 – 9pm. Share Talent is an online charity fundraising platform that allows easy registration for interest classes sponsored by class providers or conducted by voluntary teachers and talented individuals in the community. All funds collected will be fully or partially donated to HER Fund for supporting the promotion of women's rights in Hong Kong.

New courses including: Tai Chi Foundation, Ba Duan Jin, Fan Dance, Make Up, Creative Writing.

HER Fund's 3rd "Talent Performance Show" will be held on 4th March 2012 (Sunday) at 2pm in Y-Theatre, Youth Square, Chai Wan. There will be various performances like dancing, singing and drama by talented individuals and groups. All proceedings will go to HER Fund for grants that support women and girls' projects. We cordially invite you to be our performers, volunteers or donors. Details about this event will be announced shortly. For enquiries, please contact 2794-1100.

HER Fund organized our first 'Donor Visit' on 24th September (Sat). The participants were inspired by the mutual help organization and they understand more about their work.

The 8th Annual General Meeting of HER Fund was successfully held on September 17, 2011. Our Chairperson, King Mary Ann Pui Wai thanked all members, staff, working group members, advisors for their efforts and contributions. Last year, the financial situation of Hong Kong was better so HER Fund is more confident this year. Last year, was an innovative year for HER Fund, we had a breakthrough that we launched our innovative fundraising platform 'Share Talent'. But we are still facing challenges that we have to find our role to raise more money within the local context.
