In face of the challenging economic
recession at this time, we were still gifted with the invaluable support that
we had from our donors, volunteers and supporters. It is with their support
that HER Fund was able to take real action in supporting the projects for women
and girls' rights. All donations raised were allocated to our annual
grant-making this year.

HER 5th Anniversary Celebration |
March is a very special month this year for we celebrated HER Fund's 5th Anniversary with gladness and joy! Over 40 donors, partners and volunteers joined in our five years old celebration on 28th March. We shared our past five years work and achievements through audio visual presentation and our grantees' representatives from New Women Arrivals League and Concern for Sexual Violence Association told us about the change that they made in empowering new immigrant women and young girls. We also shared the homemade big birthday cake and had a great, enjoyable moment together! Thank you for all your care and support to HER Fund! |
|
In the past five
years, almost 70% of our core expenses were supported by overseas funders – we
especially wish to thank Mama Cash and the Global Fund for Women for their
support to HER Fund. Stepping into our 5th year, we are determined
to build a more sustainable growth of HER and we surely believe that regular
local support and donations are the key to this path. We hope you will continue
to be with us in bringing more resources and making changes to the empowerment
of women and girls in Hong Kong. |

Capacity Building Project for Grassroots Women's Organization |
Apart from making grants, HER Fund would like to further support the development of grassroots women's organizations by holding a capacity building project from Mid-March to Mid-December. There are 3 organizations joint this project, include: Concerning Group for Women Poverty (low income women), New Women Arrivals League (new arrival women) and Hong Kong Child-minders Association (caring service). We hope that with the assistance of In-house Trainers, and practical learning for their own organization, the capability of the organization can be increased and they can have a sustainable development. This project is supported by Oxfam HK. |
Staff Changes |
