| Outline | Since 2014, STOP has been providing financial, legal, medical and other referral services to women human trafficking survivors and forced labours. Unfortunately, the lawsuits were extended due to COVID-19, making them hard to return to their places of origin nor be able to find a new job in Hong Kong, which adding up their financial burdens and affecting their mental health.
STOP wishes to support the women survivors during the pandemic to take care of their basic needs in daily life while they’re waiting for the lawsuits. They organise self-care workshops to share skills on how to tackle stress and to accompany survivors to overcome the trauma. Apart from immediate support, these casework helps improving the current trauma-care system, promoting survivors’ rights and trafficking-related legal reform in HK in combating human trafficking in a long run.
